Hey, Denise...finally found you on the blog-o-sphere! Love this photo...straight out of a Stephen King novel...seriously, I'm intrigued by the way you've captured the two pools of flourescent lights (from the bus stop and the interior of the bus, and used the overhead street light to illuminate the whole scene...looks like you adjusted the white balance for the street light...very cool!
This was a happy accident sort of shot. We had been shooting in the thick fog outside of a museum, had packed up and were walking to the car. I passed in front of this bus and realized the driver was "on break". So, I had a good 10 minutes to shoot him. Yes, the white balance on this one is very tricky because of the different temperature of lights. I use a custom setting in the camera (using a Canon 5D for night photos) and then do additional adjustments in Photoshop.
I've not been very good about posting here, but you can see me on Flickr (neecnca) and my website, www.denisefuson.com. Also have two shows up right now http://www.lightroom.com/ and www.joycegordonphotographygallery.com/.
If you are interested in night photography, the best website is www.thenocturnes.com. This is the group that got me all excited about it.
Great to hear from you! I hope all is well with you and your family.
